Golden Bell is a popular TV quiz show in South Korea. It consists of true and false and multiple choice questions. The kids love it, so it's a staple at English camps. On TV the contestants have electronic writing tablets, but at camp the students use small dry erase boards. The game usually begins with the true and false section. Koreans don't use the terms 'true and false,' they call it 'O and X.'
Once a student answered a question incorrectly, they would have to leave the front section with the chairs and move to the standing area in the back. The students in the back could move to the chairs again after answering 3 consecutive questions correctly.
After a question is asked, the students have a little time to write their answers, then an official would say something along the lines of, "show me your boards," and all the students would put their boards over their heads.
After the game was narrowed down to the top 5 or so, the students that got out weren't allowed to come back in. A few would continue to answer the questions, but most of the students cheered on the remaining students and used their white boards to make signs. It was really cute.
The top two contestants couldn't answer the question, but this girl knew the answer!
