Everyone Should Visit Bali - Part 6 - Around Town

On the way to Bali, we had a middle of the night layover in the Kuala Lumpur airport. Luckily, there was a hotel in the airport so we were able to get a few hours of comfortable sleep without even having to leave security.

In the morning,
we found this little rain forest in the center of the airport.
We weren't the only ones there before 8AM either!

----------

Enough of that airport business, back to pictures of Bali!

Our Street

An old, diseased looking dog asleep in the
entrance way to the most amazing Greek restaurant.

A little rice paddy in the middle of town

This was the entrance way to someones house...

Can you imagine walking past this each
time you entered or exited your home?

Art?

Back on our street

They have Circle K in Bali!

An underwear store named 69 Slam!

A sweaty day of checking out our neighborhood

BOOBIES!

Yes, we are walking along the side of the freeway...

Awesome graffiti

A Balinese carved log store

Judy walking in her oversize sunhat.

She insisted on buying this hat,
and this was the only time she ever wore it...

There were real gas stations all over, but why would you go to one of those when you can buy a reused Absolute Vodka bottle filled with petrol?

----------

The beach at Kuta: NEVER COME HERE!

It was pretty, but we were instantly bombarded with persistent and aggressive hawkers trying to sell us kites, sarongs, watches, sunglasses, jewelry, clothing or offering massages or hair braiding. Just walking on the sidewalk near this beach, we got, "You want massage? Braid your hair?" from everyone we passed. It was awful.

And you had to see gross things like this...
It was far too hot for these two people to be cuddling.

----------

Bali also has Carrefour, the best/biggest grocery store in the world!

Sehat Datang Bulan
You know, a natural health drink to relieve menstrual pain...

When did Pringles get so wild with their flavors?

Bodywash, shampoo and conditioner in travel size packets!

Choco Cheese Crepe, mmmmmm

You will never see anything like this at an A&W in the states.

Salmon teriyaki flavored Lays!
They were alright...

These things tasted like fake banana flavored cardboard.
They were pretty bad, but Andrew will do anything for fiber!

The roasted sweet corn Oops tasted exactly like canned cream corn.
It was scary. The Nori flavored Cheetos Nets weren't bad though.

The only bad meal we had in Bali was here at Taste.

Pretty sure jars of weiners should not be in the 'chocolate' section.

Sweaty, sweaty, sweaty!

Judy's New Jellies

This was an awesome band.

After they finished their set, they pulled
out a song book and it turned into karaoke
with a live band. It was really cool!

This guy sang "Mustang Sally"

This was some sort of religious procession.
They were setting offerings of flowers, fruit and incense into the ocean.

This pirate ship kite was so cool!

Pain Massage Oil, that sounds nice...

The local government did not give us permission to flame fireworks.

The trusty selftimer!

Ronald surfs in Bali!

Sorry Bali, it's not called a Beef Prosperity, that's the McRib.

This is the place for big size!

Down this dirt road and to the right, burritos were waiting.

Burgers & Wine!

Andrew drenched with sweat.

This might be a restaurant, or it could be a house, we couldn't tell.

This road was clearly not meant for walking

Judy & her new rabbit fur clutch

A lizard joined us for dinner one night.

One of many amazing dinners!

A failed selftimer attempt.

Mmmmm, mojito...

Showing off her flower

These next 4 are the product of a
drunken Judy playing with the camera...

You'll notice on the 'new release' shelf that they
are proudly displaying the latest releases from Mensa!

In Malaysia, moving sidewalks are called Travellators!

Caution! You're approaching the end of the Travellator!

----------

Our flight from Kuala Lumpur to Seoul was delayed, so we ended up missing our Seoul to Ulsan connection and had to spend an extra five hours in the airport until the next flight.

Andrew made a friend while we waited,
but that didn't take up much time.

To kill the rest of our extended layover,

we watched Beauty and the Beast
and Kung-Fu Panda on Judy's Ipod.

It was not our finest moment
