One thing we've really enjoyed while traveling throughout Asia has been the abundance of restaurants offering decently priced brunch menus and specials on the weekends. Before we started planning for Miranda's visit, it had never occurred to us to search for one in Seoul. Sadly, and not really to our surprise, that search was in vain. The only brunch options we found were in the high-end hotel chains and thus carried the high-end price tag.
Still committed to the idea of showing Miranda a brunch, we headed to a convenience store near John's apartment to create our own...
From the convenience store, as appetizers, we got a selection of Korean beverages, chips, other snacks and instant noodles for Miranda to sample. After that, we went around the corner and ordered a pizza to be delivered to our table.
While we're sure it was nothing like the brunch offered at the Ritz, we were still pretty proud of it, and once the weather warms up again, we are definitely not above repeating it.
With brunch finished and cleaned up, we met up with Kristin and walked to the next neighborhood over to try out a duck restaurant that one of Judy's co-workers told her about.
While not exactly like the duck restaurant we were hoping it was, it was still pretty good and it allowed Miranda a taste of amazingness that is Korean smoked duck.
