KOREY COMES TO VISIT

Since we moved to Seoul, we'd planned a few times for Korey to come visit, or for us to head back and visit, but for various reasons it never happened. Finally, in January, he ended up taking a Friday off and jumping on a train bound for Seoul. Like when Sam and Eunjeong came to visit, we had to take Korey to the all-you-can-eat-and-drink happy hour at the COEX Intercontinental Hotel to rub in his face how much better Seoul is than Ulsan.
Monster Kia!
The Kia dealership had this oversized replica of the Kia Morning to advertise the release of their 2011 model.

Korey didn't like the idea of having to travel across town after Wing & Wine Night, so he rented a room at the Gangnam Art Nouveau hotel near COEX.

Ready for action!

Wing & Wine Night

If done properly, this is how things look while leaving the Intercontinental.

The big Kia again

You'd think after 3 hours of solid eating and drinking that we'd be done, but on the way back to the hotel, we ended up stopping in a Japanese Izakaya for some snacks and sake.
"Whaaaaat?"

"Let's talk business..."

Then, right when we were ready to leave, Andrew made friends with the men seated next to us who then bought us a gross sashimi platter and forced soju on us. They were nice, but it wasn't pretty...

You'd also think that basically having all-you-can-eat chicken wings for dinner the night before that we'd look for something else for breakfast, but not us. We headed straight for Georgia Wing for wings and cheese steaks.

Runch, the best meal of the day!

From there, we just wandered around Gangnam a little doing some snacking and shopping until heading back to our place for a pre-dinner nap. That night, we headed to the Youngdeungpo area for more eating and drinking.

As usual, we made friends...
Andrew's friend was cute and quiet. He just told Andrew all about his dream of visiting the US and traveling from New York to DC.
(and yes, that is a love motel robe over a DARE shirt)

Korey's, however, was neither cute nor quiet. He was loud and obnoxious and ended up getting us kicked out of the place...

The next place we headed was Flare Bar
Ringing the bell to signal the bar that it was shot time

Licking the bottle does not count as bar flare dude...

There we go, that's more like it!
