Dan & Sherry Come to Asia!!! - Busan

On their last Saturday in Korea, we took them to Busan for the day. Busan is the 2nd largest city in South Korea and only an hour south along the coast from Ulsan. Busan is home to an awesome fish market and some beautiful beaches, but most importantly a Costco. And, can you really say you've seen South Korea without having gone to Costco on a Saturday?

Off the train and heading to Haeundae Beach
This guy has been here EVERY SINGLE TIME we've ever been to this beach. He is always there. This was the first time we've seen him followed by a camera crew. Sadly, this was not the first time we've seen him force a girl into touching his butt. Andrew and his parents were going to force Judy to go and touch him after this girl, but she 'conveniently' wandered off to find a map.

Basically how Andrew looks in his white Speedo.
Same Same

We skipped breakfast to take an earlier train, and while we were looking for somewhere to eat it started raining, so in a lapse of judgment, we ended up at Bennigans... It's the same mediocre/poor quality food, only far more expensive.

Cheese Fries

Rainbow Salad

Bennigans Club Sandwich

They did have an awesome urinal mat, though!

Outside of Shinsegae, the world's largest department store.
In South Korea, there is no surprise on what prize comes with cereal, because it is taped to the outside of the box. The prizes are also not usually toys, but more useful and practical items, like these water bottles and visors!

Costco!
The food counter is pretty much the same...

...only Koreans don't really understand how to use condiments. The common thing is to get a plate, crank out a heap of onions onto it, pump some ketchup and mustard over top, mix, then apply it to your pizza or just eat it with a fork. It's really a sight to see!

On the streets outside of the fish market
Awesome old man

Sweet ride

자갈치시장

Jagalchi Fish Market is Korea's largest seafood market. Any creature found in the ocean from bug to whale is sold there. It is a large warehouse type market, with the bottom floor full of stalls selling the seafood and the second floor full of 'restaurants' that will prepare the seafood you just purchased.

Inside the market
Inside the market water and fish guts are flying everywhere, so Judy spent most of the time trying to keep her white blazer from getting soiled.

Near Jagalchi is another large market selling clothing and goods, but the rain kept getting worse, so our exploration of it was short lived. We ended up eating some fried chicken, walking around for a few minutes, then heading for the train.

Yikes! That's close...

Being tour guides was stressful, so after the oldies went to bed, we relaxed with a late night pot of rice wine and cauldron of soup.
