The Dried Fish Market in Busan

One Saturday (in October) we took a day trip to Busan to visit the
Jagalchi Fish Market and check out the International Film Festival.

(These pictures are actually from the weekend before
the Fireworks In Busan post from 11/17/09)

High heel charms!
Only in Korea can you come across omens of good fortune like this...

This dog actually posed for this picture.
He was laying down until he saw the camera.

This store is called HotDog! There has to be great things inside.

Fishing really takes it out of you.

A woman's work is never done.

Monster Korean Clams

Judy makes friends everywhere.

Assorted living treats

One Crab, Two Crab, Small Crab, Blue Crab
(On a side note; 'crab' is often written as 'crap' on English menus!!!)

Not a clue what we've got here. Maybe abalone, maybe not..?

These scallops were crazy.
They would squirt water and propel themselves out of the basket.

Here, the woman is ripping the skin off of these live eels.

So many zones, so little time!

A tank full of giant spider crabs

No idea what these squirming, intestinal looking things are...

Huge!

Judy risked her life for this photo.

The squid in the bottom, right hand corner was rapidly changing colors in an attempt to camouflage himself in that plastic bin. It was pretty awesome to watch.

A bin full o' Sole

The small animals get the bins and tanks on top.

Tiger Prawns

And the big guys get tossed into the tanks on the bottom.

Can you think of a better place to nap?

Cute old people having a seafood and soju picnic on the waterfront.

Awesome old men

This was some sort of game show involving teams of two singing karaoke and riding a stationary bike. We think the pedaling speed determined the tempo of the song. It didn't do much for us, but the Koreans around us sure did enjoy it!
The hosts had sweet sequined blazers and bows though...

Old men have the coolest gear!

The arches leading into PIFF Plaza
(Pusan International Film Festival)

There were people everywhere

Mmmmm, Chinese food...

Why not change your socks here?

Tomo: Memory Origin Beer Space

BOOM! beer...

Notice that detail...

This Native American is selling Buddhist prayer beads
and Japanese Maneki Neko Lucky Cats, as the Natives
have done for hundreds of years...

Bear Family! This company makes Bear Family themed toilet seats, trashcans, serving utensils, dishes, etc. Your entire kitchen and bathroom can be decked out in Bear Family.

Koreans are animals for anything free.
These 100+ people were in line to get a sample of Vitamin Water.

Matching couples will never get old!

Curly fries on a stick!

He slices the potato in this, hooks it to
a stick, then tosses it into the fryer.
